​It is no secret that people in the city of Kolkata in India are huge football lovers with the people of the City of Joy big fans of Argentina in particular. Now, one die-hard fan of the South American nation has taken his love for them to greater heights by painting his entire house in their national team's colours.

Shib Shankar Patra is a tea seller in Kolkata whose love for Argentina started during the 1986 World Cup, when Diego Maradona led his country to the ​World Cup title and since then he has followed La Albiceleste with all his heart even saving money to travel to Russia to watch his heroes in action but unfortunately could not save enough to make the trip.

"For me Messi is an extension of Maradona. Everyone in my family loves Messi. We love his behaviour, we love everything about him. I had saved 60,000 rupees ($890) but it was not enough for the trip. I will now watch Argentina's games on TV and cheer for my favourite footballers," he said to ​NDTV.

Such is his love for Messi in particular that he has decorated the walls of each room in his house with life-size posters of the player and even has plans of celebrating his birthday, which falls on the 24th of June during the World Cup.

Argentina have been drawn in Group D along with Croatia, Nigeria and Iceland and will start their campaign on Saturday, the 16th of June.
