The French Football Association (FFF) have reportedly thought over and contacted Real Madrid manger and football legend Zinedine Zidane to manage the French national team after Didier Deschamps hangs his boots as the coach.

The Real Madrid great has led the Los Blancos to two back-to-back UEFA Champions League wins and finds his team in the final again this year against Liverpool in an epic encounter that takes place next weekend.

The French FA has extended current coach Didier Deschamps' contract until 2020, however there are major doubts that he will be able to maintain his spot for that long.

As reported by El Confidencial in Spain, the Les Bleus have already contacted Zidane, who played an integral part in France's World Cup win in 1998.

Zidane was reportedly tipped to be sacked from Real Madrid after a disappointing performance from his team in the La Liga this season as they lost out to champions Barcelona by quite a huge margin.

The Real Madrid coach meanwhile has made it clear that he will honour his full contract at the club but has never denied his ambitions to lead his own national team.
