Europa League Final: Marseille vs Atletico Madrid - Four Players to Look out for

Ligue 1 outfit, Marseille, go up against La Liga giants, Atletico Madrid, in the final of the 2017-18 UEFA Europa League, at the Groupama Stadium near Lyon, France.

Cup finals are often a cagey affair, and unsurprisingly, they could boil down to a moment of individual brilliance. A gorgeous flick, a defence-splitting pass, a sensational goal or a match-winning save. Here, we bring you four suspects who could tip the tie one way or the other.

4. Florian Thauvin

The 25-year-old winger was named amongst the top four players in France this season and could have a massive impact, tonight. Florian uses his electrifying pace rather brilliantly to get behind the opposition and his knack for popping up at the right time is a handy bonus. He has scored 26 goals in all competitions this season and created another 16 for his teammates.

3. Jan Oblak

It's impossible to imagine Atletico Madrid without the brilliant Slovenian these days. When Thibaut Courtois returned to Chelsea, no one really expected his replacement to exceed expectations in such a manner.

Oblak is leading the race for La Liga's Zamora Trophy for lowest "goals-to-games" ratio. He's also conceded just four goals in eight Europa League games, this season, and he will love to end the campaign with another clean sheet.

2. Dimitri Payet

Atletico Madrid are the meanest defence in Europe, conceding just 20 goals in 37 league games and to catch them out of position, you need one of the best passers the game has to offer.

Ligue 1's best passer Dimitri Payet will hope to be on song when he takes to the field tonight. He can pop up with a goal or two when needed but his primary responsibility would be to overwhelm Atletico's midfield.

1. Antoine Griezmann

Usually, we associate power and grit with Diego Simeone's Atletico Madrid and the Frenchman doesn't quite fit the profile, which is exactly why he is such a crucial part of the team.

Griezmann is the creative outlet of this Atletico side and has the ability to hit the back of the net even against the run of play. His crucial goal against Arsenal secured a slender 1-0 away win for Atletico, ultimately sending them through to final and he'd love to have a similar impact tonight as well.
