The 2017/18 Premier League season is all wrapped up and it's time to take a step back and review the action we saw since August 2017. As part of our Premier League throwback, we have brought to you the attacking midfielders who made it impossible for us to take our eyes off them.
Here are the 10 best attacking players who kept the defenders on their toes all season long.
10. Johann Berg Gudmundsson
Burnley's brilliant season under Sean Dyche is being lauded all over the world, but we must not forget the players behind this magnificent achievement. Gudmundsson isn't a household name, per se, but his consistent performances this season have made him a person of interest for fanatics. He scored two goals and provided eight assists this season, and would be looking for more next season.
9. Wilfried Zaha
Crystal Palace's restricted kitty has always stopped them from pushing for a more respectable finish in the league and if it weren't for this fine winger, Palace would've dropped back to Championship. In 28 Premier League appearances, the Player of the Month for April managed to score eight goals while assisting five more.
8. Jesse Lingard
The only Manchester United player on our list, Jesse Lingard, just wrapped up the best season of his short career. We don't often reward passion and dedication these days and players like Lingard show why we should. He's always been up for the task whenever called upon, and contributed to the cause with eight goals six assists.
7. Sadio Mane
The ever-elusive left-winger of Liverpool sits comfortably at seventh place. Going by the stats alone, he might look the least prolific of the Reds' front three, but his contribution to attack is simply immense. The Senegal international often found himself in the middle of controversy, but on the pitch, his 10 goals and 17 assists has helped the Reds greatly.
6. Riyad Mahrez
The 2015/16 PFA Player of the Season may not be as prolific as he once was, but he still is capable of bringing a lot to the table. It took Leicester City a lot of effort to finish inside the top half of the table and Mahrez's 12 goals and 11 assists must have certainly come in handy.
5. Dele Alli
The prolific England international was tipped to play a crucial role as Tottenham Hotspur buckled up to challenge for the throne. Alli, however, didn't look consistent enough to register record-breaking numbers, but all in all he had quite a decent season. The 21-year-old contributed by scoring nine goals and creating 10 more.
4. Heung-Min Son
Primarily a left-winger, this Tottenham Hotspur superstar also excels in playing as a centre-forward or a right-winger. His telepathic connection with Harry Kane is one of Tottenham's strongest assets and played a crucial part in securing Champions League football. The South Korean made an immense contribution with 12 goals and six assists.
3. Leroy Sane
Manchester City scored a record breaking 106 goals this season and this young German certainly had his fair share of impact. His quick feet and the ability to take on defenders make him one of the deadliest in the game. The former Schalke man scored 10 goals and set up 15 more this season.
2. Raheem Sterling
Kevin De Bruyne is being touted at Manchester City's standout performer this season but this Englishman has been no short of brilliant, as well. He has improved immensely under Pep Guardiola and will only get better with time. He scored 18 goals and assisted 15 more in just 33 appearances, this season.
1. Mohamed Salah
This selection is a no-brainer. The Golden Boot winner of 2017/18 did everything he could to help his team secure Champions League football for next season. The Ballon d'Or frontrunner has been scintillating from start to finish, scoring a whopping 32 goals and setting up 11 more in 36 appearances.
