According to Tottenham Hotspur number 20, Dele Alli, team-mate Harry Kane must not solely focus on winning the Golden Boot as Spurs fight for the FA Cup and a Champions League slot.
Harry Kane is determined to match Thierry Henry's record, winning three consecutive Golden Boots. But as of now, Mohamed Salah looks to have a firm grip on the proceedings, leading the Englishman by 5 goals after finding the back of the net in the 3-0 win against Bournemouth, while Kane fired a blank against Premier League champions, Manchester City.
Last season, Harry Kane managed to overhaul Romelu Lukaku's tally in the final stretch by scoring 7 goals in the last 2 games. However, Dele Alli didn't look too interested in Harry Kane's personal records as he urged his mate to focus on winning the FA Cup and sealing top-4.
"We've seen what he has done before. Last year against Lukaku it was a tough competition and he finished the season really strongly," Alli revealed after the 3-1 defeat to Manchester City, as quoted by ESPN.
"But that can't be H's main focus this season. We are a team and we have got to play together and if he does it he does it and we will all be happy for him but I don't think we are going to focus too much on it."
"We have got a game in midweek against Brighton and our focus is on that and after that our focus will go to the FA Cup [semifinal against Manchester United on Saturday]. We have just got to pick ourselves up and try and pick ourselves up as quick as we can."
Harry Kane was given a boost when he was accredited with Spurs' second goal against Stoke, ahead of Christian Eriksen, after a successful appeal to FA. Tottenham still have a number of tricky fixtures to play, and it would take something really special from Harry Kane to nick the Golden Boot ahead of the Egypt international.
