Bengaluru FC defeated Neroca FC 3-1 in their Hero Super Cup quarter-final to progress to the last four of the competition, where they will face familiar foes, Mohun Bagan.


A perfect hat-trick from captain Sunil Chhetri helped the Blues secure the win as they overcame some incredibly hot weather at the Kalinga stadium in Bhubaneshwar. 


Chhetri opened the scoring in the 13th minute, scoring through a header after a fabulous counter-attack. Pritam Singh levelled matters in injury-time of the first half, pouncing on an error from goalkeeper Gurpreet Singh Sandhu. 


The Indian skipper then scored again in the 55th minute, calmly converting after receiving the ball from Miku. He proceeded to complete his hat-trick by scoring later on, just as it looked like Neroca were beginning to turn the screws in their hunt for an equaliser.
