Manchester United, along with north London clubs Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur, are reportedly interested in signing midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure from Watford. The Frenchman has impressed since joining the Hornets and looks set to move away in the summer of 2018.

The 25-year-old has been an ever present in the Watford midfield and the club are working to try and tie him down to a long-term contract at Vicarage Road. However, with interest from United, the Gunners and Spurs being mentioned, it remains to be seen what happens.

Javi Gracia, manager of Watford, told the Evening Standard, "I don't know, I don't know what happens in the future, whether he will sign a new contract or stay with us a long time, I don't know."

The manager added, "I think he is very happy with the team, the supporters, the club, the city. I think he is very happy. I would like Doucoure to stay with us more time. I have tried to explain to him many things that he can improve but at this moment, this season, he is a very good player."

Doucoure has scored seven goals in 30 appearances in the league this season for Watford and is a key reason for them currently being 10th in the table. Though he could not exert much influence against Arsenal in their recent 3-0 loss, he played a big part in their 2-1 win over the Gunners earlier in the season.

His physicality, ability to win the ball back, goalscoring tendencies and constant energy make him an intriguing prospect for teams in the top six.
