Chelsea ace, Alvaro Morata thinks it's impossible to stop Lionel Messi and has appealed to his team-mates to act sensibly during their Champions League clash against the Blaugrana.

Chelsea take on Barcelona in the round-of-16 of the competition with the first leg to be played on 21st of February.

The five-time Ballon d'Or winner hasn't always been at his best against Chelsea and has endured some bitter moments.

In 2012, the Argentine missed a penalty against the Blues in the Champions League semi-finals which saw Chelsea advance to the finals with a 3-2 aggregate scoreline. Messi was left heartbroken after his miss but Morata thinks it would be stupid of Chelsea to take him lightly.

"Messi can't be stopped," the former Real Madrid striker told Movistar+, as quoted by Goal.

He further stated, "If we can get a good result here, we have to play a defensive game with spaces and try to bother them as much as possible."

Considering Chelsea's form, it will actually be sensible of them to have a measured approach to this tie. Lionel Messi most certainly is the obvious threat, but Barcelona also have some promising players capable of hurting any team in the world. Focusing on Messi just makes Barcelona's job all the more simple, something Chelsea must stay guarded against.

Messi has netted 20 goals in the La Liga this campaign, but could only manage three goals in six Champions League appearances.
