Liverpool defender, Joe Gomez claims Liverpool could still improve and achieve their goals without the majestic Philippe Coutinho.

The Brazilian international signed for Barcelona just a couple of days back for a whopping £142 million and Liverpool are reportedly in the market for replacements.

The Reds are on a 17-game unbeaten run and Coutinho and Salah's imperious form has made them the second highest scorers in the league. Now his departure has made Liverpool's strikeforce a bit lop-sided as they now lack the creative inspiration they need to split open tight defences.

Gomez revealed that everyone at the squad is happy with Coutinho's dream move, insisting Liverpool still haven't hit their peak, yet.

Talking about the move and how Phil's departure has affected the club, Gomez told Mirror: "It’s a massive club with so many top players and I think we know how good he is," quoted Daily Star.

"Everyone is happy for Phil, but now it’s about us bouncing back and moving on as a team. No-one is dwelling on it, we’ve got such a good team here, we know we can keep pushing and keep progressing."

The Reds are currently placed fourth in the Premier League and have all to do against the runaway leaders Manchester City when they welcome them at Anfield, this weekend.
