The Yellow Army will be looking for their first win of Indian Super League 2017/18 as they take on Northeast United at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. Both teams have lost their last round of fixtures and would have to improve to get a positive result tonight.

After conceding five goals in the last game against FC Goa, the home side will start the match on the backfoot, cautious about their organisation at the back. However, at home, they have looked like an impenetrable fortress, and are still unbeaten. They played out two drab goalless draws in the opening two fixtures and settled for one goal apiece for the third encounter.

Marquee signing Dimitar Berbatov will have to sit out the tie after being injured in the last match; expect Iain Hume to take his place in the starting XI. Defender, Wes Brown, could make his ISL debut tonight against the strong Highlanders.

Northeast United coach doesn't want to concentrate on the defensive lapses Kerala exhibited in the last round, as he thinks they are one of the strongest sides of the tournament. He could opt for his favoured formation of 4-2-3-1, adding steel to the middle. TP Rehenesh has achieved optimum fitness and is expected to start. The only change could be the inclusion of Ralte in the starting XI in place of Doungel.

Probable XI:

Kerala Blasters: Paul, Lalrutthara, Wes Brown, Jhingan, Anto, Vineeth, Izumi, Hume, Pekuson, Jackichand, Sifneos.

Northeast United: Rehenesh, Reagan, Jose, Sambinha, Nirmal, Narzary, Borges, Goiano, Marcinho, Didika, Lopes.

Prediction: We expect Kerala to register their first win of the tournament tonight with a 2-1 scoreline.

Kick-Off: 8:00 PM IST
