Chelsea's midfield maestro and former Barcelona man Cesc Fabregas has added fuel to the already burning fire caused by the Blaugrana's approach for Liverpool talisman Philippe Coutinho.

The Spaniard who represented Barcelona, analysed the various ways in which Barcelona can benefit from signing a player of Coutinho's stature and technical ability.

Speaking to Spanish TV station TV3 as reported by Mundo Deportivo, Fabregas said, "I believe he is a superb player. I see why Barcelona are interesting in signing him."

The Spaniard continued by stating, "Coutinho is very comfortable on the ball and the advantage of having him in the team is that his game is very flexible and Barcelona need that flexibility in their team more than ever."

It is widely reported that even though Liverpool might have avoided Coutinho's departure in the summer transfer window, Barcelona are not ready to give up their pursuit of the Brazilian sensation and will be returning with a bid in the next year's summer transfer window.
