​Indian football giants Bengaluru FC are gearing up for the second leg of their AFC Cup qualifier against FC Istiklol. Having lost the first leg 1-0 away from home, the Blues will have to beat the Tajikistan based club by 2 goals in order to guarantee their spot at the finals of the AFC Cup.

The match that will take place at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium tonight and huge number of Bengaluru fans are expected to light up the match. The equation is simple! If Bengaluru win the match 1-0, there will be 30 minutes of extra time and penalties to decide the match.

The winner of the match will face defending champion Air Force Club from Iraq in the finals. Istiklol will be boosted by the return of key players like David Mawutor and Juraboev Amirbek. As we saw in the first leg, Istiklol will sit back and try to hit Bengaluru on the counter.

Bengaluru, meanwhile have had a three week break between the matches and have trained pretty well in the build-up to this match at the Kanteerva. Once again, fans will be looking forward to an inspiring performance from Indian captain Sunil Chhetri.


The Bengaluru Fc team coach Albert Roca spoke about the match against Istiklol and said,

"If we concede a goal early, we will be in trouble. We have to play intelligent football. We have to choose when to risk and attack, and when to defend. Overall, all the players have to be on fire tomorrow. It is a question of attitude and pride."
