Serie A outfit Napoli's captain Marek Hamsik will be on the verge of creating history for his club as he will have a chance to equal the legendary Diego Maradona's goalscoring record for the club when Napoli face AS Roma in their Serie A encounter on Saturday.
Napoli are currently top of the table in the Italian league after they won all seven of their opening matches of the season, scoring 25 goals in the process but facing AS Roma will be their most difficult match of the season up until now.
Napoli have faced a majority of teams who are considered as the bottom-halved teams in the Serie A namely Verona, Atalanta, Bologna, Benevento, SPAL and Cagliari.
Roma on the other hand have won the last five of their six matches in the league which also included an impressive 2-0 win over AC Milan. Hamsik and his Napoli team are widely regarded as the most entertaining football team in Italy at the moment.
The 30-year-old Slovak midfielder has scored 114 competitive goals during that time -- one short of Maradona’s total during his seven-year spell between 1984 and 1991 which saw Napoli win their only two titles.
