Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has hinted that the Gunners could indeed go ahead and cash in on Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez by selling them in January if their contract situation does not reach a solution soon.
Both, Sanchez and Ozil are currently in their last year of contract at Arsenal and Wenger spoke at his press conference on Thursday morning stating that it is possible that the club could sell the Chilean-German duo.
Speaking to ESPN, Wenger was asked if the club would sell both players in January and he replied, "Once you're in our kind of situation, you envisage every solution, yes. It's possible."
It was being reported earlier that Manchester City will come back for Alexis Sanchez in January after a summer move failed to happen at the last moment and the Gunners are still to open new contract talks with Ozil, who wants to stay at Arsenal if terms are agreed.
However, Wenger issued an update on these players' contract status and said, "I always said that the fact that we didn't find an agreement last year doesn't mean that the player will necessarily leave -- because both players look happy here. Overall I hope that the situation can be turned around."
Ozil is back in training for the Gunners whereas a distraught Alexis Sanchez will return back to London after his country Chile failed to qualify for the FIFA World Cup in Russia next year.
