Real Madrid great Luis Figo is certain that Real Madrid's faltering season will get back on track now that Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo is back after suspension.
The La Liga champions find themselves in fifth position in the La Liga and are already seven points behind arch rivals Barcelona following a slow start to the season which also includes a 1-0 defeat against Real Betis. However, Figo is optimistic Cristiano Ronaldo's return will boost Real Madrid as a team.
Speaking to Star, he said, "Of course, he's a very important player for the team. He was out five games and the team missed his goals and his contribution. Now everything is settled and I think the team is going for the goals they had in the beginning of the season."
Speaking about Madrid's start to the pre-season, Figo claimed, "They started well, they won two competitions (the Supercopa and UEFA Super Cup) and now in the league they're trying to come back from some draws and (recover) some points to Barcelona."
Talking about the trick for Real Madrid to win the La Liga again, Figo suggested, "The season is long, to win the league you have to be really (consistent). Of course, all the teams have their ups and downs and I'm looking forward to seeing Madrid in the top (places)."
Ronaldo is yet to score in the La Liga this season and he will hope to end his club goalscoring drought when Real Madrid travel to Getafe on Saturday.
