La Liga giants Barcelona are reportedly set to drop their interest in Liverpool midfielder Philippe Coutinho and instead renew their pursuit of Jean Michael Seri ahead of the next transfer window.

According to the Mirror, the Catalan giants are determined to land the Ivory Coast international after failing to land him in the summer. The 26-year-old was said to want a move to the Nou Camp, however nothing came out of it with the midfielder eventually staying with Nice for the time being.

Seri has been linked with Arsenal and Liverpool but in all probability is set to move to the La Liga which could be good news for the Anfield based side as Barcelona will not move for the Brazilian who would them stay with the English club.

The 26-year-old is highly rated and considered to be one of the best in his position and was impressive for the French side last season scoring seven goals and registering nine assists in 39 appearances in all competitions. The midfielder has continued in the same vein this campaign too registering three assists in seven appearances so far and will have a big role to play if Nice are to challenge on all fronts.
