Liverpool beat Hoffenheim 6-3 on aggregate to reach this season's Champions League group stages. The Reds manager Jurgen Klopp has reached the knockout stages in three of his four Champions League campaigns, all with Dortmund. He was a beaten finalist in 2013.
This is Eduardo Berizzo's first Champions League appearance as manager. He took Celta Vigo to the semi-finals of the Europa League last season in his only previous European campaign as head-coach.
Coutinho could return for Liverpool while Dejan Lovren and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will be pushing to start. Sadio Mane will be available as his three-game suspension after being sent off against Manchester City does not cover European games. Loris Karius is tipped to start which will mark his European debut for Liverpool.
Loris Karius to start for Liverpool vs Sevilla.— Oliver Bond (@Oliver__Bond) September 11, 2017
Nolito and Johannes Geis both miss out for Sevilla while goalkeeper David Soria is an injury concern.
Sevilla won 3-0 at the weekend but they are not quite the force they have been in previous seasons. On the other hand, Liverpool were thrashed by Manchester City 5-0 and have to refocus on their game.
The Reds will be playing at Anfield at night and looking at their love affair with European football, Sevilla will find it extremely hard to get something from this game. The fans might not have forgotten about their Europa League final loss two seasons ago but a Liverpool win with slightest of the margins looks likely.
