Manchester United and Everton have been able to agree a £22m fee for midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin, meaning it now promises to only be a matter of time before the French international is reuniting with Ronald Koeman and organising his new locker at Finch Farm.

Despite leaving a positive impression on Jose Mourinho, Schneiderlin just hasn't been part of the plans at Old Trafford this season. He remains a very dependable Premier League player, though, and a key statistic confirms what a good acquisition the Toffees are making.

Schneiderlin first arrived in the top flight when he helped Southampton earn promotion in 2012 and quickly set about making his mark. His impact in central midfield has been such that in that time he's contributed more combined tackles and interceptions than any player in the league.

That's 772 tackles and interceptions in four-and-a-half seasons. But it becomes even more impressive when one considers that he's played just 11 minutes of Premier League action in 2016/17, was in and out of the team in his debut campaign at United and had a handful of isolated injuries that limited him to just 25 appearances in his final year with Southampton.
