Cristiano Ronaldo has been named The Best FIFA Men's Player of 2016, having had quite a year both at club and international level.
FIFA held their first The Best FIFA Football Awards ceremony in Zurich on Monday, recognising the world's biggest stars for their contributions and achievements last year.
The game's governing body also paid homage to yesteryear's stars who passed away in 2016. Former Brazil defender Carlos Alberto and the legendary Johan Cruyff were remembered as pioneers of the sport during the ceremony.
Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Antoine Griezmann were the remaining three nominees for the evening's biggest award, but it was the Ballon d'Or winner who walked away with the accolade.
The Portuguese also made it into the FIFPRO World 11 team, joined by teammates Marcelo, Sergio Ramos, Luka Modric and Toni Kroos.
Meanwhile, USWNT superstar Carli Lloyd collected the inaugural Best FIFA Women's Player award. The American was crowned Women's World Player of the Year at the final FIFA Ballon d'Or gala 12 months ago and enjoyed another stellar year in 2016 off the back of her incredible 2015.
The 34-year-old supremo beat off competition from Germany's Melanie Behringer and Brazil's Marta to claim women's football's top individual accolade.
