Mohun Bagan striker Jeje Lalpekhlua has hailed the competitiveness of the I-League claiming that every team has the potential to win the crown this year. Bengaluru FC who are the defending champions, are widely tipped to defend their crown but Jeje believes it will not be so simple.

With 10 teams taking part in the league this year, there will be upsets and the Mizoram born striker believes that one cannot take any team for granted as each of the 10 teams on offer have a shot at winning the title.

"The title challenge is not just going to be posed by Bengaluru FC, but by every Team which is participating. All Teams in the Hero I-League are on the same page this year and every Team has the potential to be crowned as the eventual winners", Jeje said, as quoted by Hero I-League's official website.

Named the Indian Player of year last season, Jeje missed his side Mohun Bagan's 1-0 win against Churchill Brothers due to injury, however the 26-year-old born striker is confident of returning soon and leading his team to their second I-League trophy.

The Indian international believes that the current squad has what it takes to go and win the title this year.

"My personal target is to give more than my cent percent in every match that I play in the hope of winning the Hero I-League trophy again. Mohun Bagan will stop at nothing less than winning the Hero I-League Trophy. The squad is shaping up good and the lads are putting in the hard work in the training sessions. We just have to emulate what we have learnt on the field and play with everything that we have."

Mohun Bagan will next be seen in action on the 13th of January when they face Shillong Lajong at the Barasat Stadium in Kolkata.
